Prepaid HTC One M8 with Windows Phone 8.1 Will Be Available for $199 From Verizon

Prepaid HTC One M8We have heard numerous reports that HTC will soon release a version of One M8 with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. Microsoft has been struggling in an uphill battle in getting more smartphone makers to produce phone models with its newest software solution. The company has acquired Nokia’s mobile division and it fully controls the Lumia brand, which represents about 90 percent of the Windows Phone smartphone market.

It’s the company’s major attempt to drive up sales of smartphones based on the Windows Phone 8.0/8.1. Microsoft has also given incentives for licensees to allow them keep building more handsets. It is reported that Microsoft has even paid major companies like Huawei, HTC and Samsung to produce a few smartphone models this year.

It means that HTC is about to fulfil the part of the deal and its new phone will be called the HTC One W8. It’s a carbon copy of its Android sibling, except for the difference in software platform. In addition to the proprietary Duo Camera, there’s also the dual front-facing speakers, knows as the HTC BoomSound. The HTC One W8 will be available for $610 outright, or $199 with 2 year of new contract agreement through Verizon.
