It’s a rather nice surprise that HTC just unveiled a dual-SIM variant of the HTC One for the UK market. It comes with a removable rear cover that allows users to access a couple of microSIM card slots. There’s also a microSD card slot as well, a feature not available on the original HTC One model.
Specs-wise, the phone is identically equipped compared to its single-SIM sibling. There are 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 4.7-inch 1080o display, 32GB of internal storage, UltraPixel rear-facing camera and HTC Sense UI 5.0 on top of the Android Jelly Bean OS. But it’s quite unfortunate that 4G LTE capability is not available on this one.
Obviously, this isn’t the first time we see a dual-SIM variant of HTC One. In fact the company has released it in China and other Asian countries. For UK consumers, the dual-SIM HTC One is already available for pre-order. While dual-SIM devices thrive in emerging markets such as India, China, Africa and others; consumers in the United States are still quite unfamiliar with them.
Meanwhile, European countries, including the United Kingdom seem to increasingly better support dual-SIM devices. The HTC One Dual-SIM is available in the UK for £303 and there’s no confirmation whether the phone will be available in other European countries.
