AT&T’s AiO Wireless has arrived quietly in Chicago. On the carrier’s official website, we can find “60601”, the zip code for Chicago area. This allows Chicago residents to order SIM cards and phones from AiO Wireless. Some consumers have tried this and the network seems to work in Chicago.
Additionally, the AiO store locator in its website shows numerous payment location within the city area. AiO has a rather slow start since its official launch in May this year. It is appearing to one area at a time.
Users can typically purchase AiO devices and plans from its retail stores. Subscribers are also allowed to order from its official website, the aiowireless.com; provided they use zip codes listed in the website.
Coverage is comparable to GoPhone and users can access the service anywhere in the country, subscribers reside specific areas. The carrier promises a full nationwide coverage to apply in 2014. AiO’s plans are more affordable than GoPhone’s and its data throttling is quite reasonable, 4Mbps for HSPA+ and 8Mbps for LTE/4G.
