Motorola’s affordable Moto G has finally gone on pre-order at select countries, including the United Kingdom. The US-based company has started sales on physical stores on Phones4U and other retailers. The 16GB model is available for £15. Clove sells the 8GB model at £156 and 16GB model at £186. From Unlocked Mobiles, the 8GB model is available for £160 and the 16GB for £177. As always, pricing in the United Kingdom is more expensive than on other countries, as an example, at the US, the phone is sold for $179 for the 16GB model.
The Motorola Moto G is a lower mid-tier smartphone that is priced like an affordable model. The 4.5-inch 720p display matches the pixel density offered by iPhone 5S’ Retina Display screen. Inside, there’s a reasonably capably Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. There are also 1.3Mp camera up front, 5Mp sensor in the back and 2070mAh battery underneath the back cover.
The phone arrives initially with Jelly Bean Android 4.3 OS and Motorola promises that the KitKat update will be available early this year. The Moto G is a highly customizable device, which is in line with the concept adopted by its bigger sibling, the Moto X, Users can easily jazz up their handset with multiple colorful snap on covers. But these accessories are things users need to buy separately.
