Nokia has launched its first phablet, the Lumia 1520, for distribution in Italy and France. It appears that the prepaid version of the six-incher will soon be available in the United Kingdom, specifically from December 6. According to Nokia, the phone will be available through Phones4U, Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone and O2 retail stores.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 was announced last month along with its less capable 6-inch sibling, the Lumia 1320. The 1520 offers 6-inch full HD display at 368ppi of pixel density, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 20Mp PureView camera, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 7GB of free cloud-based storage.
Another standout feature is the proprietary ClearBlack technology, which enhances visibility when the phone is used in direct sunlight. Although the Nokia Lumia 1520 could be a bit too big and uncomfortable to handle, it would appeal users who want to have a smaller, pocketable tablet-like device.
The Lumia 1520 is essentially Nokia’s first bid in high-end market with its powerful hardware configuration. It joins other similar devices in the market including the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, HTC One Max and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
