It has been weeks since we heard about possible Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Note 2. Prepaid subscribers in the UK may soon receive it, since a major carrier in the neighbouring country, the France-based SFR, has issued a timetable for its flagship Samsung smartphones. This involves Android 4.3 updates for various devices, including those made by HTC.
Availability of Android 4.3 update for prepaid flagship Samsung devices in France may indicate that subscribers in the UK will get the same treatment soon. It is widely rumored that the unlocked version of Galaxy S4 will receive the latest Jelly Bean update next month, while the older Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy 3 will get it in December by the latest.
The update process can be performed over-the-air or through Samsung’s KIES software. The Android 4.3 will bring new enhancements, such as improved dial pad and keyboard input. These phones will be able to scan for available hotspots without turning the WiFi feature on. It also provides support for Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) and OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics standards.
