Despite its budget price of £83.33, the Huawei Ascend G 510 is an entry-level smartphone model that can do many things we expect from more expensive models in Vodafone’s prepaid phones catalogue. It’s very big for a budget device with its 4.5-inch LCD display and high-quality build. The spacious screen allows us to use the onscreen keyboard comfortably in landscape mode.
The G 510 is powered by the decent 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8225 processor and Adreno 203 GPU. The 512MB of RAM again places the G 510 in the budget category and it’s already adequate for normal uses. Most apps should launch immediately, while games with exceptionally high demand will suffer some stutter.
The 5Mp rear-facing camera is definitely not a highlight, but it still shoots viable pictures for social media sharing and other casual uses. The 1730mAh battery is not in anyway extraordinary, but it can keep the phone running with all wireless connectivity turned on and display at maximum brightness.
