Users of Prepaid Samsung Galaxy S4 Are Getting Android 4.3 Update

Samsung Galaxy S4While Google has started to release the Android 4.4 Kit Kat operating system, device manufacturers are still rolling out their customized Android 4.3 builds around the world. Users of prepaid Samsung Galaxy S4 in the United Kingdom have finally obtained the Android 4.3 Kelly Bean update for their device. Samsung started global launch of Galaxy S4 last month and it first arrived in Germany. Having now been available across a wide range of regions, the update is now introduced in Germany.

Android 4.3 is essentially a minor incremental update and Samsung has added a number of enhancements, such as support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The build is available as an OTA patch and users in the UK can access the update through the device’s settings menu.

Prepaid users with unlocked Galaxy S4 units will be the first to receive the update, followed a bit later by users of carrier-flavoured units.
To install the Android 4.3 OTA, users in the UK could go to Settings>More>About Device>Software Update> Update. Other than new integration with the Gear, users also get a revised TouchWiz launcher and improved RAM management tool.

This would put the Galaxy S4 just a little bit behind Nexus 5 with its newer Kit Kat update and there’s word that Google will deliver Android 4.4 update faster to non-Nexus devices.
