Samsung Halts Android 4.3 Update Process for Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy S3Complaints from users of Samsung Galaxy S3 in the United Kingdom are enough to force the South Korean company to put the roll out of the Android 4.3 update into a halt. Samsung started the update process a couple of weeks and users were able to go directly from Android 4.1 to Android 4.3. Among issues reported by users include apps the refused to work properly, frozen user interface, alarms that won’t go off and faster battery drain. Add to that the lags that happened when the smartphone woke up out of standby, problems with multitasking and issues with Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsung UK has already acknowledged these problems and said that it is investigating them. The company promises that the update should resume once every problem is resolved. As of now, Samsung already pulls the Android 4.3 update from Kies and FOTA.

It appears that the problems are not isolated in the UK, because users in the United States also experience roughly similar problems. The Android 4.3 for Galaxy S4 is intended to add the KNOX security platform and integration with Galaxy Gear. Users of Galaxy S3 could get relevant notifications from the paired Galaxy Gear smartwatch and a secure container for business requirements.
