We got wind in early July about T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3. It was reported that the phone will be compatible with band 12 LTE, but FCC’s filing revealed that the phone will not be compatible with carrier’s 700MHz spectrum.
Reliable sources reported that T-Mobile has picked up the phone and it will be available for unveiling in September. It would mean that we would get another high-end prepaid from Sony through T-Mobile about six months after the release of the Xperia Z2. The Xperia Z2 is likely to be made exclusive through Verizon. So, in order to bring Sony’s new prepaid smartphone into its lineup, T-Mobile needs an entirely new model. It is explained that the Xperia Z3 comes with all metal frame, with mostly similar internal hardware.
Of course, T-Mobile and Sony haven’t confirmed this, but it’s believed that the sources are reliable based on their past information releases. We should hear more about the Sony Xperia Z2 both from leaks and official announcements as the IFA 2014 event approaches. For now, we could assume that the Xperia Z3 will be released near the IFA 2014 event and it may not be compatible with T-Mobile’s 700MHz spectrum.
