YotaPhone Will Arrive in the United Kingdom

YotaPhone UKThe YotaPhone first appeared last January at CES 2013 and it caught attention with dual-display configuration; a 4.3-inch 720p touchscreen LCD display at the front and a power-efficient 4.3-inch E-ink (360 x 640)display at the rear. Now, we have reports that the phone will soon be heading to the United Kingdom.

It’s quite unusual for a smartphone to feature an E-ink display. Its highly efficient power usages are useful for reading notifications, without turning on the standard color display and this should help to improve battery life.

Underneath its surface, the YotaPhone looks like something that came out in 2012, with its 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Additionally, users will find 13Mp camera on the back and support for 4G LTE data connectivity. Other connection options include basic GSM connectivity, A-GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi. The official price tag of YotaPhone is 20,000 rubles or £380 and pricing for UK consumers is still be revealed.

The YotaPhone isn’t the first smartphone with dual-display configuration. Samsung has released the Hennessy, a flip smartphone with a couple of touchscreen displays. Even so, the YotaPhone is first one with a combination of E-ink and LCD displays.
